Professionally Designed Great Room Addition

With the advent of home theater systems and in home office spaces for doing homework or research on the Internet, this 1992 Northwest Traditional home in Happy Valley, Oregon was in need of additional space. This Great Room Addition was professionally designed to meet the needs of this busy family and provide the structural elements of the original design. The existing master suite had a window and door leading out to a small deck that was unused. These were replaced with a smaller window to meet the egress window requirements of Clackamas County. The existing French doors off the back of the home were removed providing the perfect sized opening for entry into this new recreation room. The roof structure was matched perfectly providing beautiful vaulted ceilings to the inside and matching cedar shake roofing on the exterior. The interior features Cork flooring and wool carpet to satisfy our efforts in utilizing Green Building practices, the walls were built using advanced framing techniques. Other features include an Anderson French door, Milgard lifetime vinyl windows, elegant custom cabinets from the local craftsmen at Andrews Fine Woodworking, an entertainment center, casual office space, and rope lighting for ambiance. A pool table provides a friendly gaming center.
