Happy Valley Resort
Constructed on the side of Mt. Scott in Clackamas County, this stunning pool required an enormous amount of special engineering to stay put! The concrete retaining walls are 10” thick and full of steel reinforcement. The deck that surrounds the pool was built using huge steel beams buried 6’ deep in concrete. The private security walls are made from a professionally designed steel beam structure that was sheeted with pressure treated plywood and coated with real stucco versus the EFIS system that has caused so many terrible dry rot issues all over the Northwest. The walls are vented and built to completely prevent any chance of rot. The railings were hand crafted by a local Wrought Iron artist and the pool coping was poured in concrete using special architecturally detailed foam formwork. The pump house was strategically placed to be out of site from the pool deck and keep the pool warm and clean all year long!
